Walkscore has been one of my favorite sites since it come out. The site lets you enter an address and find out how “walkable” it is. Now, they’ve released a list of the most walkable cities in America, and even tell you which are the most walkable neighborhoods in each city. Visit site »
Walk Score, a site I really love, now has a ranking of Seattle’s most walkable neighborhoods. What’s really cool here, from the perspective of a web designer/developer, is the heat map and neighborhood boundary overlays they’ve done with Google maps. Good stuff. Visit site »
This is a very cool little Google maps mashup. Walk Score calculates the walkability of an address by locating nearby stores, restaurants, schools, parks, etc. and then tallies the whole thing up into an out-of-100 score.
My Lawrence house: 22 out of 100. My Seattle house: 77 out of 100.
