As if the name wasn’t bad enough, check out the logo. Awful. Thank God Seattle retained the rights to the Sonics brand so they can apply it when they get a team back in Jet City. Visit site »
In last night’s NBA draft, a record-tying five players from a single school were drafted when my Kansas Jayhawks’ Brandon Rush, Darrell Arthur, Mario Chalmers, Darnell Jackson, and Sasha Kaun were all selected by the league. Compare that to North Carolina and Duke who had, um, none. Just sayin’.
The Jayhawks were promptly treated like the school slut, passed from team to team in a fury of trades. All five KU players were dealt at least once, and Arthur was traded three times! Visit site »
I dunno if it’ll work, but it’s step one in my suggested plan (Schultz sues to get the team back and then hands it over to Ballmer). It may go a little ways towards restoring Schultz’ reputation in Seattle, too — especially if he actually manages to get the team back. Visit site »
Clearly, this evidence suggest Clay Bennett is a jackass who never had the best intentions of Seattle or the Sonics in mind — but we already knew that. The big question is: what does this mean to the future of the team in the Emerald City?
I don’t know, but I’ll tell you what I hope it means: I hope it means Howard Schultz can sue the bejesus out of Bennett for breach of contract and hand the team over to Steve Ballmer, who would be a freaking great owner. Fingers crossed. Visit site »
I dig this new NBA blog by the Firewheel crew. Great design. I’m not a huge NBA fan (at least not until KC gets a team again!), but I’ll definitely hit it up on occasion for a Baby Bulls scoop or two. Visit site »
