So — back when I was in middle school (5th or 6th grade, I can’t remember) we did Linoleum carving during art class.
(Side note: Remember how schools used to offer Art Classes?)
At any rate, was right around the time of the AIDS scare and the mentality that simply -looking- at blood could infect a person with HIV.
Those linoleum etchers are friggin’ sharp: If ten people are cutting — two people will get cut, guaranteed.
Before starting the project, we were specifically told that when (not if) someone gets cut — they will bleed pretty badly. That person will then be required to clean up their own blood before going to the nurse.
Fear makes people do some stupid shit.
