    Number three does fit, but I don’t think that’s the definition Northtemple was referring to when they asked “are designers artists?” :)

    I had the same argument last week and boild my htoughts down to this:

    Art is about expression, not problem solving. About soul, not function. Design requires function; art requires expression. There’s certainly crossover; but pure art does without problem solving. Pure design does without expression.
