Following Keith’s lead, I saw fit to drop a short post letting you all know about a handful of upcoming speaking engagements I’ll be participating in and events I’ll be attending. I hope to see many familiar faces and meet some new ones!
I’ll be in Dallas September 21st and 22nd for Webmaster Jam Session 2007. I’ll be covering web typography in great detail, probably packing way more slides than should reasonably fit in my one hour minute time slot. Everything I’ve head about last year’s event says it was a great learning experience and a ton of fun — so I’m very excited about it.
November 7th and 8th, I’ll be heading to New York City for my first time, to attend the second Future of Web Design. The first one, which I spoke at in London earlier this year, was just too much fun to keep me away. Between my having never been to New York, getting to see some of my English friends, and the relaxing prospect of being able to enjoy a conference without having to stress about my presentation, I just had to go. There are a ton of great speakers, including several friends and colleagues — this really should be a great event.
On Novemeber 13th, I’ll be speaking right here in Seattle, at the monthly Refresh event. To be quite honest, I haven’t yet decided what I want to talk about — so I’m definitely interested to hear what any Seattleites that may be attending would like to discuss. I’ve considered doing a rerun of the typography talk from Dallas, but I’m open to talking about other things, too. Since this is usually a small, intimate event, I’d definitely like to tailor the talk to what the attendees want. Got any ideas?
Looking a little further out, I’m slated to speak at serestandar.es in Sevilla, Spain from February 18th to 21st, and I’ll definitely be attending South by Southwest Interactive 2008 in March, as well. I didn’t make any submissions myself, but I am definitely open to the possibility of being involved in a a panel or presentation — so if you’re looking for someone to join yours, let’s talk. :)

I can’t wait for the Webmaster Jam Session. I missed it last year, but wild horses couldn’t keep me away this time. Really looking forward to the typography session.
